TIMES MALAYSIA, YOGYAKARTA – The national social restriction has made hospitality industry in blue. They have to go back to agony for the government closed all tourism activities. Just like what happened in Yogyakarta. This city back to become another dead city after the social restriction rule reapplied.

Yogyakarta has been well known with its tourism industry for the past few decade. Lots of people will come to visit this city for its culture and attractions. But since the pandemic struck the country, everything seems upside down.

The city has to apply the social restriction in order to support the government program in fighting the spread of Covid-19.  This give such a huge impact to the hospitality industry and tourism themselves.  Lots of tourist attractions has to be closed down, people get fired for the hotels reducing the number of their employees, and more.

And in honor of this situation, around 78 hotels in Yogyakarta decided to turn on their room light to form a heart shape. This was conducted from 16-20 July 2021. This action was a campaign #FromJogjaWithLove, #JogjaMembaik.

This campaign was initiated by Himpunan Humas Hotel (H3) Yogyakarta, Asosiasi General Manager Hotel Yogyakarta, and Perhimpunan Hotel & Restoran (PHRI) Yogyakarta.

"It was part of our emphaty. It's to show that we are not alone on this. And it's a symbol of hope to a better tourism in Yogyakarta in the future,"  Leon Christiannaldo, the Director of H3 Yogyakarta said on Tuesday (20/7/2021).

Some hotels in Yogyakarta such as Novotel Suite Yogyakarta Malioboro, THE 1O1 Yogyakarta Tugu, Grand Aston Yogyakarta, Swiss-Belboutique Yogyakarta, Hotel Tentrem Yogyakarta, The Alana Yogyakarta, Horison Ultima Riss Malioboro Yogyakarta, and Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta joining the campaign.

Grand Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta, PORTA by Ambarrukmo, Novotel Yogyakarta, Pesonna Hotel Tugu, Pesonna Hotel Malioboro, Yellow Star Ambarukmo, Yellow Star Gejayan, @HOM Premiere Timoho, Kotta GO Yogyakarta, Meliá Purosani Yogyakarta, Royal Malioboro, Grand Senyum Hotel, Horaios Malioboro Hotel, and The Manohara Hotel Yogyakarta also listed on the campaign.

Meanwhile Grand Inna Malioboro, éL Hotel Royale Yogyakarta Malioboro, Grand Kangen Hotel Urip Sumoharjo, Ibis Styles Yogyakarta, Ibis Malioboro, GAIA Cosmo, Hotel Dafam Fortuna Yogyakarta, Amaris Malioboro, Hotel Amaranta Prambanan, POP!
