TIMES MALAYSIA, PROBOLINGGO – Probolinggo has several beaches as their iconic tourist destinations. These places lies on the north shore of the city as it laid on the East Northern area of East Java.
However, there two iconic beaches which offers such stunning view of lush fern trees all over around, except for the beach and the ocean of course. Let's say Mayangan dan Permata Beach to name a few.
These two places was so popular amongst the local community. Beside the natural beauty, it also very affordable. Not to mention the low cost of the ticket, these beaches will give you stunning view especially during the sunset time.

The Two Beaches that Worth the Visit
1. Mayangan Beach
Located at northern side of Probolinggo this place will need around 10 minutes drive from the alun-alun or the city center of Probolinggo. You could redirect your maps to Mayangan, Probolinggo to reach your destination.
This place was formerly a local dock named Pelabuhan Tanjung Tembaga. Back then, during the colonial time the local community will dock their ship after sailing from the ocean to catch some fish.
As the time goes the local government put more attention to the place and relocate the dock and turn it to a bigger dock a little north from its original place. And then people start to use the abandoned area as their place to hang out in the late afternoon.
The access to this destination was quite easy. You could take a pedicab or car, or motorcycle from where you stay. To get into the beach are they will only charge you for IDR 5 K.
For those who loves to fishing, there several spots you could use to reel your rod. You could spent your time fishing while enjoying the beautiful sunset on the west.
2. Permata Beach
Located on the north side of Pilang, Kademangan, Probolinggo, this destination has such stunning location to go. It's kind of goes over the ocean. This place was also quite accessible with any vehicle.
The lush green fern around the area has attracted the local community to visit this place from day to day. As for now, this place is managed by the local tourism awareness community (Pokdarwis).
Back then, this beautiful natural phenomenon was filled with mangrove and fern. But in 2010 when Bromo erupted, the mangrove was demolished and left only the fern.
the beach is 7 kilometers long. This makes everyone fit in and able to choose the perfect spot to enjoy the sunset. The management also provide some shades for the visitors to rest.
Due to it vas stretched area, some people will use this place for camping, cycling, or just to throw a small party to celebrate their precious moment.
With the beauty the beach has to offer, the place was designated for free. You don't need to pay for the ticket and could directly enjoy the beauty.
Either Mayangan of Permata Pilang Beach of Probolinggo will give you a nice experience of enjoying sunset in the evening. You don't need to spend much money to get all the beauty and enjoy being a local. (*)
