TIMES MALAYSIA, MALANG – Cangar Natural Hot Springs in East Java has introduced a new VIP bathing experience that elevates its offerings to a premium level. From now on youw ill be able to taste an exclusive queen bathing like experience with their VIP jacuzzi.
Managed by the East Java Forestry Department through UPT Tahura Raden Soerjo, this popular natural tourism site now provides private jacuzzi-style facilities. It designed for visitors who seek comfort and exclusivity amidst nature.
Each VIP room is priced at IDR 100,000 per hour and can accommodate up to eight people. This makes it ideal for families or groups of friends looking for a more intimate and relaxing soak away from the crowded public pools.
With natural hot water flowing directly into the enclosed spaces, the experience brings a refreshing blend of luxury and wellness.
Sadrah Devi, Head of Planning, Development, and Utilization at UPT Tahura Raden Soerjo, explained that the hot springs are part of a 27,800-hectare conservation area officially established by the Ministry of Forestry in 2002.
“We aim to balance nature preservation with community-based ecotourism,” she stated on Thursday (31/7/2025).
Cangar Hot Springs has long been one of the key contributors to local revenue, generating between IDR 4 to 5 billion annually. With approximately 200,000 visitors each year, its popularity reflects a strong demand not only from domestic tourists but also international travelers seeking authentic, nature-based experiences.
“The interest is consistently high,” Sadrah continued. “People come not just for the therapeutic benefits of the hot water, but also for the cool mountain air and the serene forest atmosphere.”
Among those who recently tried the VIP experience was Rahmad Ilyasan, a local visitor who expressed his satisfaction. “Honestly, it feels amazing. The price is affordable, and the privacy makes it more enjoyable," he said.
He added that the space was perfect for relaxing with his family and that even one hour was enough to feel completely refreshed. “I’d definitely recommend it,” he concluded.
The introduction of VIP hot spring rooms is part of a broader effort to improve the quality of tourism services while still prioritizing conservation. By upgrading facilities without compromising the natural integrity of the area, Cangar Hot Springs aims to remain a sustainable and attractive destination for years to come.
With its new offerings, Cangar not only reaffirms its role as a top nature retreat in East Java but also demonstrates how thoughtful tourism development can go hand in hand with environmental stewardship. (*)
